There are five options to get to and from Narita Airport:
This bus operates a direct route from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station in around 65 minutes. The service runs from 6 am to midnight. The bus also does intermittent pick up and drop offs at Ginza Station (see timetable here).
Don’t get it twisted, this is not a limo ride to and from the airport. It’s a bus service, but it’s still pretty schmick. It offers drop off and pick up from major hotels and train stations in Tokyo’s most popular suburbs. We recommend taking the bus to the hotel closest to where you are staying and catching a taxi from there. Onboard, the bus provides free WiFi, a toilet and good luggage storage. The service runs from 6 am to 11.30 pm on most routes.
The JR Narita Express train (also called the N’EX) runs to central Tokyo in around an hour. The major train stations it stops at are Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shibuya and Shinjuku, which are also serviced by the Yamanote train line, so you can transfer to other stations closer to your accommodation. The service runs from 7.30 am to 10 pm.
The quickest way to get to Tokyo from Narita airport is via the Keisei Skyliner train. It takes under 45 minutes to Nippori Station before it terminates at Ueno Station. Both of these train lines are also serviced by the Yamanote train line, so you can transfer to other stations closer to your accommodation. Choose the Keisei Skyliner train if you are staying in the north-west neighbourhoods of the city. The service runs from 7.30 am to 11 pm.
This lower-cost express bus service connects Narita Airport to suburbs like Tokyo Station, Ginza and Ikebukuro. The Ikebukuro bus service is a good choice if your accommodation is in the north-east neighbourhoods of the city.
